SCHOOL CLOSINGS DUE TO CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
All Catholic elementary schools in Western New York are closed today, Monday, March 16, 2020 due to emergency declarations by the Governor of New York and area county governments. Starting Tuesday, March 17th, all schools will remain closed for various lengths of time. Schools in the City of Buffalo and in Erie County are closed until Monday, April 20th. Niagara, Genesee, Chautauqua and Allegany Counties have closed schools until further notice. Cattaraugus County has closed their schools until Monday, April 13th.
CLOSING OF SCHOOLS DOES NOT MEAN THE END OF INSTRUCTION
Every Catholic elementary school is prepared to continue instruction for students in K-8 during the closing. Schools will use a combination of technology and instructional materials to insure students are still getting instruction. You should contact your school for specifics on how this will be done.
DAYCARE NEEDS/STUDENT LUNCHES
We realize that the extended closing of our schools will make finding appropriate and safe settings for their children a parental priority. Some of our schools will be providing daycare services during normal school hours as well as lunches for those who need this help. Again, contact your school for information. If your school is not providing daycare services ask them to direct you to another Catholic school that is providing these services.
All of our Catholic schools are making arrangements to provide lunches for students who may need them. Ask your school how this will be done.
We are all praying that our children and you remain safe during these unsettling times.
