2nd Graders at St. John's start Fun Fund for Catholic Charitiesby Jennifer Livermore
After reading a selection in their Reading and Language Arts books they took it upon themselves to start a "Fun Fund". They created their own bookmarks, bracelets, and key chains to sell during school lunches each Wednesday during Lent. They made the signs, read announcements over the p.a to get school support, handled the money, and kept track of their goal, which was to raise and donate $100.00 to Catholic Charities. They surpassed their goal and felt the joy of giving. They displayed tremendous teamwork, cooperation, diligence, and fellowship during this educational and spiritual endeavor.
