Pumpkin' Up the Fall Fever

Oct. 1st, 2015 10:16 am

Before your children get into their costumes and begin trick or treating, be sure to take a family visit to one of WNY's finest pumpkin farms, and help your Catholic school students to understand more about the true meaning of this time of the year. Pumpkinville and The Great Pumpkin Farm are loaded with fall fun activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Pumpkinville

4844 Sugartown Road

Great Valley, NY 14741

9am-7pm

Your Catholic elementary students won't have a hard time finding a perfect pumpkin at this 200-acre family farm, which grows thousands of pumpkins each year. The farm also grows squash, gourds, and corn in Great Valley, just minutes away from Ellicottville.

Whether you want to just pick out a pumpkin, see apple cider being made, or just relax and enjoy the fall colors, Pumpkinville is a wonderful place to celebrate fall. In addition to the farm, there are a bunch of free activities for elementary aged kids from private schools in Buffalo and WNY. Singing chickens, farm animals, a spooky barn to name just a few.

For high school aged teens and adults there is a 96-acre corn maze, pedal carts, a hayride, even helicopter rides! You can go apple picking, watch an antique cider press make apple cider, or enjoy a variety of food options. Homemade pies, kettle corn, candy apples, and chicken BBQ on weekends!

Check out the website to see what else Pumpkinville has to offer for you and the whole Family!

The Great Pumpkin Farm

11199 Main St.

Clarence, NY 14031

Admissions for Attractions & Festivals

Every Weekend from September 12th through Halloween features a different festival weekend at The Great Pumpkin Farm. There are about as many things to do at this fall frenzy as there are pumpkins, and that's A LOT.

The Great Pumpkin Farm offers attractions, activities, and events for anyone from Grandma and Grandpa, to your youngest Catholic elementary school girls and boys. Among many more, attractions include a corn maze, amusement rides, hayrides, a magic show, and a spooky "Boo Barn" for the kids.

There is a petting zoo, a playground, and we can't forget about Pumpkin Palace, an adorable general store packed with handcrafted Halloween and fall decorations. This is where you'll find the Bakery and Candy store, to smell freshly baked pies made with fresh fruits grown right at the farm, cookies and pastries.

There are costume contests, pig races, face painting, and even a pumpkin cannon that shoots pumpkins thousands of feet into the woods! Be sure to plan ahead, or you might miss something!

Take a look at the website to see more, and be sure to look at all the different festivals, as there is something different each and every weekend.
