Have a Happy & Healthy ThanksgivingNov. 25th, 2015 12:21 pm
Western New York Catholic Schools' blog wishes all of our students and families a lovely, warm, and gracious Thanksgiving weekend. So much of what we are thankful for on Thanksgiving revolves around the wonderful food that's prepared. Here are 3 simple things to remember to be thankful for this Thanksgiving with your family.
All too often we forget that there are individuals and families in WNY, and all over the world, who don't even have a home to live in. Spend some time this weekend enjoying the comfort and solitude of your home with your family. Help your Catholic school students to understand how to be grateful for what they have, including a warm home to sit down and share Thanksgiving dinner with together. Share a prayer together giving thanks for your home.
The majority of us know someone who has an illness or disease that causes them and their family pain and suffering. Remember to give thanks this Thanksgiving for having a healthy mind and body. It's easy to forget how lucky we are to be able to wake up every day free of pain and illness. Say a prayer with the family for someone you know who is ill, or suffering.
Family & Friends.
Whether your family is big or small, make sure to let your family know how much you love them, and how thankful you are to be able to spend the day with them. Reach out to your friends and wish them the best on their Thanksgiving, and tell them how grateful you are to have them in your life. Ask your Catholic school students who they think of, whether family or friend, when they think about who they are most thankful to have in their life. Say a prayer to thank God for these lovely people who make you and your children's lives better.
Once again, we hope the families of both public and private schools, of Buffalo and Western New York have a lovely, warm, and gracious Thanksgiving. Of course, don't forget to give thanks for the lovely meal!
