Catholic Schools Recognized Early and Often in 2016 WNY School Rankings

For the 25th year, Buffalo Business First published its anticipated Western New York School rankings and we are both excited and honored that so many WNY Catholic schools have again been recognized.  Our administrators, students, teachers and parents' hard work and high expectations were rewarded with a myriad of our schools placing in the upper echelon in 2016.

High School Rankings

Our commitment to excellence in education yielded another year of positive results for Catholic high schools throughout Western New York.  Four of our schools ranked in the top 10 -- including Nardin Academy and Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart at numbers 2 and 3, respectively.  Furthermore, 7 ranked in the top 20 and 10 in the top 50.  The results speak for themselves -- WNY Catholic schools' reputation for cultivating bright minds is evident throughout the rankings and we couldn't be more proud of our hardworking community.

 Middle School Rankings

Catholic middle schools ranked favorably in 2016 as well, placing 3 of the top 5, 10 of the top  20 and 22 of the top 50 rated middle schools throughout Buffalo and the Western New York region.  Christ the King (Amherst) jumped up from number 5 overall in 2015 to rank number 3 in 2016 while St. Gregory the Great School (Williamsville) followed at 4 and Immaculate Conception School (East Aurora) rounded out the top 5.  This year, 22 Catholic schools were included in the top 50 of the 195 that were ranked.  While it's the individual school names that show in the rankings, we know our success is the result of the hard work, dedication and expertise of everyone involved -- students, teachers and parents alike.

Elementary School Rankings

We recognize that our students' journey through education starts early, at the elementary level, and Catholic elementary schools made up a significant number of the 263 separate schools that were ranked throughout the region.  Catholic schools accounted for 4 of the top 15 performing elementary schools, 11 of the top 50 and out of a total of 39 Catholic elementary schools that were evaluated, 35 ranked in the region's top 100.

The outstanding education, leadership and spiritual guidance students receive from WNY Catholic schools are the result of year round commitment and dedication.  Buffalo Catholic private schools are considered among the best in the region and while it's always nice to receive recognition, we'll be excited to welcome students back in the doors this fall for the start of another, successful year.
