Serving Children with Special Needs

Although Catholic schools strive to meet the needs of all of our students, some of those needs must be met by the district in which the school resides or the district in which the student resides.

 

We are fortunate, in the Diocese of Buffalo, to have FICE, the Foundation for Inclusive Catholic Education. This organization provides in-service opportunities for our Catholic school teachers to learn techniques and teaching strategies geared towards helping children with varying abilities to succeed in our classrooms. FICE has provided excellent speakers and trainers, all at no expense to our schools, to equip teachers and classroom aides to meet the challenges of differently abled students.
